Carnevale a Venezia

Clichés aside, this was probably the only Carnival worth registering and celebrating in a life time, which is particularly easy I guess for someone who usually doesn't really care about these celebrations! Throwback to Venice, 2013.

True that, for me at least

Your voice sounds completely different in different languages. It alters your personality somehow. I don’t think people get the same feeling from you. The rhythm changes. Because the rhythm of the language is different, it changes your inner rhythm and that changes how you process everything.

When I hear myself speak French, I look at myself differently. Certain aspects will feel closer to the way I feel or the way I am and others won’t. I like that - to tour different sides of yourself. I often find when looking at people who are comfortable in many languages, they’re more comfortable talking about emotional stuff in a certain language or political stuff in another and that’s really interesting, how people relate to those languages.

Super Bowl night

...Or an epic night for this little girl, first time in America, first Super Bowl in America!

On other notes, I love this kind of evenings - in any place, either at home or well, in this case, there, in America. The sense of Summer in the air, warm nights with a tiny breeze at dusk, riding bike, taking it easy, nature putting a show on sky and oh well... You got me!

Se se fizesse um registo fiel das ideias do homem sobre a divindade, ele seria forçado a reconhecer que, na sua maior parte, a palavra deuses foi usada para exprimir as causas ocultas, remotas, desconhecidas, dos efeitos que testemunhou; que aplica este termo quando a origem que é natural, a fonte das causas conhecidas, deixa de ser visível: mal perde o rasto destas causas, ou mal o seu espírito deixa de conseguir acompanhar a sequência, resolve a dificuldade, põe termo à busca, atribuindo-a aos seus deuses... Portanto, quando ele atribui aos seus deuses a produção de um fenómeno... não estará de facto, e apenas, a arranjar um substituto para a escuridão que vai na sua própria mente, um som que está habituado a escutar com reverente pavor?
