Rise and shine!

These past 2 months have wrapped me in some kind of bubble where I'm living in a total isolation from outside world. I'm not the one to complain since I'm loving every minute of it, but it does feel good to go outside and breath in some fresh air. Quite literally in this case :)

With that said and for what matters here, one of the few down sides of being immersed in a personal project, is that my usual evening walks went to from rare to none lately (and god knows how it costs me!).
So, yesterday I woke up in a need of walking in the mornings instead and today I made it happen! What an excellent idea, since it was the perfect Fall morning, sunny with a mist blanket in the horizon. I love all things Fall and how can we not?!

Mother Nature put on a show and the mist brought with it a fine layer of wet glitter, which made me oh and awe at every few steps! It somehow hurts me inside knowing I've been loosing this...
Year after year, I feel more and more blessed to live in this village, which, without a doubt, must be one of the most beautiful places on Earth! I'm feeling blessed today.

Mountain life

One of my all time favorite routines/habits/sports is to walk. I love to walk and I'd walk everywhere if only I could.
In a daily life, I'm the one who takes her car only when needed (I know "needed" may put my definition in a very vague notion, but let's consider my restrictions as: long distances, difficult accesses and weather conditions - and yes, why not admit, some sartorial moments!) and hardly are distances I'd say not to walk. I already wrote a lot about my love for walking here & here & here.
This fact of mine is decently consummate, when it comes to leisure time, in my long walks every night (1h approx.) and every now and then hikes in the mountain. 'Every now and then' moments which I'm committed to transform in a more of a monthly ritual in 2016, when possible. Yes, it's one of my 2016 resolutions under the motto 'do more of what makes you happy'.

All these thoughts came again to me after watching the newborn -so far so good- portuguese tv programme "Portugal a Pé" which made me want to go outside in the middle of one these winter nights and realize my last hike was somewhere 2 months ago. Time to go again!

Little by little, I feel like I'm back on track

After experimenting what can be told as a totally uninspired period in my life (oh, and I wish it was only about the blog...), I feel like back on track! Urging to write, photograph, document, inspire and get inspired! Specifically looking at this little web corner, I feel like doing some changes, making it more... I don't know, will figure it.
To celebrate this fact, what better start than this super hike in the mountains this past Saturday. Sometimes you just need to push yourself (or to be pushed) to your limits (not even close!) to see the matter you are made of!

El Camino de Santiago de Compostela

Cleaning out the dust here on the blog, I found this from the archives somewhere in 2014, after I did El Camino de Santiago de Compostela myself. It was such a life time experience and, after 1 and a half year, I still don't want to add anything to what I wrote back then.

I've always had this "problem": to find on others the words I'd like to write myself. You know, putting down quotes and texts nicely and make them having sense with the underpinning thoughts, not too strict, not too soft, not too tough, not too flowered. In other words, I lack the ability to write. Invariably, of course, it seems I always find on others the things I wanted to say myself.
Nonetheless, I've finding out this thing about myself: I'm best at talking! I can say I'm a good speaker, I like it when I have (some serious) conversations and I notice my thoughts been linked and I surprise myself with some serious stuff I can articulate with the flow of a good conversation... That's when I'm more prone to ramble, because when it comes down to me and a keyboard, I have quite strict and rational writing.

Regarding "El Camino", I found this quote"The Way is a very personal journey" - I heard in this movie - all I wanted to say about it. Nothing more, nothing less.
With that said, I should just add that I feel really fortunate for had been able to do "The Way" and it came, again, in a peculiar phase of my life which, giving my sceptical mind a little benefit of the doubt, made me believe everything really happens for a reason (and why not, a little cliché never hurt nobody!).

"It's your road and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you."

Super Bowl night

...Or an epic night for this little girl, first time in America, first Super Bowl in America!
On other notes, I love this kind of evenings - in any place, either at home or well, in this case, there, in America. The sense of Summer in the air, warm nights with a tiny breeze at dusk, riding bike, taking it easy, nature putting a show on sky and oh well... You got me!

The perks of riding a bike

(...)
In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame.
On a cycle the frame is gone. You're completely in contact with it all. You're in the scene, not just watching it anymore, and the sense of presence is overwhelming.

At last!

My grandfather old bicycle brought to life! I've been thinking about the repair of it for maybe an year and a half and finally here it is! The reborn of a legend and the most significant gifts of all...
